FPGA Shortage Update: Availability Trends Across Major Vendors

Availability on mid-density FPGA families has improved meaningfully over the last two quarters as fab capacity has caught up with pandemic-era backlog. Standard catalog lead times for these parts have returned to pre-shortage norms across most of our manufacturer partners, and we're seeing healthier distributor stock levels than at any point in the last three years.

However, several high-density, high-pin-count families remain on allocation. Parts used heavily in data-center and defense/aerospace designs are still seeing extended lead times, and some manufacturers continue to require end-customer usage disclosures before releasing supply on those SKUs. Buyers planning new designs around these families should build in schedule contingency and talk to us early about reserving supply — allocation windows can close with little notice when a single large program pulls forward its forecast.
