Navigating the Global Semiconductor Supply Chain in 2025
Lead times are stabilizing across most passive and discrete categories, but allocation risk remains uneven for certain analog and RF parts. The broad picture is encouraging — average lead times across our top 200 tracked part numbers are down significantly from their peak — but averages hide real variation at the category level.
This report breaks down category-by-category trends we're seeing across our manufacturer network. Passives and standard logic have returned to catalog lead times almost everywhere. Analog signal-chain parts and RF front-end components remain the exception, with a handful of manufacturers still running 12+ week lead times on newer process nodes as fab capacity gets prioritized toward higher-margin product lines.
Heading into Q2, buyers should watch two things in particular: where to build modest safety stock on the analog/RF parts still showing allocation risk, and where spot-market pricing on previously tight passives is likely to soften further as excess inventory built up during the shortage years continues working through distribution channels.
